Hospitality Operations (HO) Duration of Program: 20 Weeks + 80 Hour practicum (approx. 8 weeks)
The Hospitality Operations
Managerial, organizational,and customer service skills are the keys to success in the hospitality industry. UCCBT's Hospitality Operations program will prepare studetns for supervisory positions in this exciting field.
Some Courses Include:
- Supervision in the Hospitality Industry
- Basic Hotel and REstaurant Accounting
- Hospitality Sales and Marketing
- Managing Front Office Operations
Each of the eight offered courses will prepare students to assume leadership roles and contribute knowlegeably, and with confidence, to the field of Hospitality Operations.
The practicum option will give students the opportunity to gain further hands-on knowledge and experience in the industry. Students who complete the practicum will receive a Practicum Certificate. Students who choose not to complete the practicum will still receive American Hotel & Lodging Assoication (AH&LA) certification and UCCBT certificates for courses completed, but will not be granted a UCCBT diploma
UCCBT partnership with Centennial College
UCCBT has entered a partnership with Centennial College regarding our Hospitality Operations course.
Students who successfully complete the Hospitality Operations program at UCCBT will be eligible to transfer 6 courses to Centennial College’s Hospitality Management – Food & Beverage, 8 courses to Hospitality Management – Hotel & Resort, and 8 courses to Hospitality & Tourism Administration.
This pathway partnership is a fantastic opportunity for students to transfer all the courses they will receive from the Upper Career College of Business & Technology to Centennial College in a short duration of time.
CERTIFICATIONS
Students who complete any given course/module,including the required examinations from AH&LA,may receive individual course certificates. Completion of all eight certificate courses will provide the student with certification from AH&LA. A GPA of 85+ will grant the student an Honours Diploma from AH&LA. UCCBT Practicum Certificate.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must meet the following requirements to enroll
in the Hospitality Operations Diploma Program:
Grade 12 or Equivalent or Mature Student Status (at least 18 years
of age).
Passing score on the UCCBT Entrance Examination.
For students who were educated in a country where English
is NOT the official language, students must meet the following
criteria:
TOEFL score of 557/220/83 and/or a TOEIC score of 750+ (or
equivalent).
Transcripts of at least one year of post-secondary education
(if applicable). Certified copies of transcripts must be sent
to and be evaluated by UCCBT.
For students who transfer from Study English in Canada, Inc.
(SEC), the following criteria must be met:
Successful completion of SEC Level 8 or higher (or equivalent).
