International Travel Foundations (ITF) Duration of Program: 24 Weeks + 40 Hour practicum (approx. 8 weeks)
If you love travelling, have excellent organizatonal skills and enjoy working with people, then consider a career in Travel and Tourism. UCCBT's International Travel Foundations program provides students with key industry information by combining theoretical knowledge with practical experience.
UCCBT is 1 of 5 IATA authorized training centres in Canada. IATA industry certification offers UCCBT Graduates an eductional advantae which will ensure success in the field.
Some Courses Include:
- Air Fares and Ticketing
- Geography & Travel Planning
- Tour Packages
- Travel Formalities
These, along with the other courses offered, will develop the skills - organizaiton, communicaiton, geographical knowledge, customer service - necessary to succeed in the industry.
The practicum option is also included.
CERTIFICATIONS
IATA International Travel & Tourism Foundations Diploma (DTTF2). Studetns who maintain a GPA of 90% will receive an Honours Diploma from IATA. UCCBT Certificate in International Travel & Tourism. UCCBT Practicum Certificate.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
Travel Agent, Tour Operator, Tour Coordinator, Airport Customer Service Representative, Travel Agency Owner.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must meet the following requirements to enroll
at UCCBT:
Grade 12 or Equivalent or Mature Student Status (at least 18 years of age).
Passing score on the UCCBT Entrance Examination.
For students who were educated in a country where English
is NOT the official language, students must meet the following
criteria:
TOEFL score of 557/220/83 and/or a TOEIC score of 750+ (or
equivalent).
Transcripts of at least one year of post-secondary education
(if applicable). Certified copies of transcripts must be sent
to and be evaluated by UCCBT.
For students who transfer from Study English in Canada, Inc.
(SEC), the following criteria must be met:
Successful completion of SEC Level 8 or higher (or equivalent).
